Project Description

Trans women are highly impacted by HIV in Nepal with an HIV prevalence 22 times greater than in the general population. We found that only half of trans women have been tested for HIV recently and HIV care engagement is low relative to national targets. Building on recently-completed NIH funded research, we aim to pilot a multi-level intersectional stigma reduction intervention to increase HIV testing and engagement in HIV care among trans women in Nepal.
