NIH/PEPFAR Collaboration for Implementation Science and Impact Evaluation (R01)
The NIH, in collaboration with the Office of the Global AIDS Coordinator, is soliciting applications for support for implementation science projects that will inform the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) as they develop more efficient and cost-effective methods to deliver HIV prevention, treatment, and care on a large scale.
Deadline: July 7, 2011
Saving Lives at Birth: A Grand Challenge for Development
USAID, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada, the Government of Norway, and the World Bank have joined together to launch Saving Lives at Birth: A Grand Challenge for Development, to find the tools and approaches to help the mothers and newborns during their most vulnerable hours. The partnership seeks groundbreaking prevention and treatment approaches for pregnant women and newborns in rural, low-resource settings around the time of delivery.
Deadline: April 29 2011

Grand Challenges Explorations, open to anyone from any discipline, fosters innovation in global health research. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has committed $100 million to encourage scientists worldwide to expand the pipeline of ideas to fight our greatest health challenges.
