The Global Research Training in Population Health program (POP) has been reconfigured and consolidated into the Chronic, Non-Communicable Diseases and Disorders Across the Lifespan: Fogarty International Research Training Award (NCD-LIFESPAN) (D43) program.
Program Overview
The Global Research Training in Population Health program supported research training of low- and middle-income country (LMIC) scientists with the long-term objective of strengthening LMIC research programs and institutions related to population health, including the study of:
- demographic processes, including: aging, child health, adult health, mortality, morbidity, fertility, migration, urbanization, population dynamics and environment, nutrition, sex and gender, and other social, behavioral, and economic factors that influence population dynamics
- reproductive processes (including biology, immunology, genetics, endocrinology), fertility and infertility, contraceptive development, contraceptive clinical trials, contraceptive and reproductive health evaluation
