Make an impact in global health! Apply to be Fogarty International Center's next director of international training and research

The John E. Fogarty International Center of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking exceptional candidates with an MD, PhD or equivalent doctoral in biomedical science and senior-level research and research administration experience in one or more scientific areas related to global health for the position of Director of the Division of International Training and Research. Open to U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, and non-U.S. citizens eligible for a valid work authorization.

NIH/PEPFAR Local Implementation Science Network Seeks Applications

Apply to develop a local Implementation Science (IS) alliance that responds to the local priorities and contexts and engage with the larger cross-alliance network comprised of members of all the local alliances. Each local IS alliance will convene partners to develop activities related to implementation challenges in the context of HIV and an overall agenda that addresses consensus-driven implementation science priorities.

  • The African Academy of Sciences (AAS) in partnership with the Frontiers Research Foundation invites all universities and national academies to participate in the 3rd edition of the Frontiers Planet Prize as a National Nominating Body. The Prize is an international science competition where three prizes of 1 million Swiss francs are offered to exceptional scientists whose work actively contributes to establishing pathways for solutions to keep humanity within the 9 planetary boundaries.

  • The UK National Institute for Health and Care Research is now seeking applications for their Global Health Research (GHR) – Researcher-led programs. GHR funds research that aims to improve health outcomes for the most vulnerable people in low and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Training Opportunities

Apply for the NIH Environmental Justice Scholars Program!

Environmental Justice (EJ) Scholars Program scholars work with staff members across NIH. U.S.‐based or international mid‐career to senior scientist candidates and environmental justice community leaders from academic, non‐profit, or private sectors are eligible to apply.

NIH to host course on ethical and regulatory aspects of clinical research

This course is offered to anyone interested or involved in the ethics of clinical research with human subjects. Participants represent multiple disciplines including research teams, IRB members, physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, administrative staff, students, and others. The course meets Wednesday mornings from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. ET (USA) from September 25 to November 6, 2024.

Two-Part Virtual Event, NIH Grants Process Primer: Application to Award

NIH is hosting a two-part event that will provide participants with the basics to help you in your role working with the NIH grants process from application preparation to award. In Part One NIH experts will introduce participants to the NIH as an organization, key components of finding the right funding opportunity, the NIH team, application, and more. In Part Two participants will have the opportunity to view demos and engage during this next-level look at tools and systems used during the application process.

Manuscript, Abstract & Poster Submission Opportunities

  • The NIDA International Program is now accepting proposals for plenary sessions for the 2025 NIDA International Forum. The Forum will be held in conjunction with the 2025 College on Problems of Drug Dependence Annual Scientific Meeting.
