Project Description
The International Bioethics Research Postdoctoral Training-C Asia Network will provide advanced bioethics and research training for three post-doctoral trainees per year (n=15) from four leading national medical universities affiliated with respective Ministries of Health in Central Asia low- and middle-income countries (LMICs): Azerbaijan Medical University, Baku, Azerbaijan; Kazakh National Medical University, Kazakhstan; Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic; and Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, Uzbekistan.
Following the Foundations Phase engaged in intensive coursework in bioethics and research methods, didactics, and research project mentoring at Boston Children’s Hospital Harvard Medical School and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, the trainees will return to the their countries to conduct mentored in-country bioethics research (Implementation Phase). The goal of the program is to assemble an independent group of critical future leaders in bioethics research in the C. Asia region (Sustenance and In-Country Impact Phases).
