Project Description
Endocrine and metabolic diseases (EMDs) cause significant morbidity and mortality worldwide, but their relative burden in rural South Africa and the most cost-effective ways to detect them is unknown. This project aims to identify how multiple converging risk factors, including HIV, affect the relative burden of EMDs in this population and develop and evaluate the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of an intervention to promote integration of case-finding for key EMDs into routine primary care.
