Project Description
HIV-negative pregnant and breastfeeding women in South Africa are at high-risk of HIV. Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is safe and effective at preventing HIV. Our study will evaluate:
- Acceptability & feasibility of integrating PrEP into ante and postnatal care,
- the PrEP cascade (initiation, retention, adherence)
- Loss to follow up and factors associated with loss in a cascade in 200 pregnant/breastfeeding women.
