"Global-to-Local" Webinar Series

The "Global-to-Local" webinar series, hosted by Fogarty and co-hosted by NIH partners, provides health researchers, funders and implementers case examples of innovation transfers that have taken place or are in the process of being adapted for use in the U.S. Webinar sessions will discuss how this type of research could be conducted and supported more systematically to harness what is already known through global health research abroad to make an impact on health outcomes in the U.S.

Upcoming Sessions

  • To be determined.

Past Sessions

  • Transferring HIV and Stigma Reduction Interventions from LMICs to the U.S.
    October 1, 2020
Moderator: Dr. Dianne Rausch, National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
    Webinar presented via Zoom.
Co-hosted by Fogarty and the NIH Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR)
The first webinar in the series will provided the scientific community with case examples of HIV interventions that are in various phases of being transferred from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to the U.S., with a focus on several lessons from the transfer of stigma reduction interventions. Presenters described lessons learned from abroad, frameworks for intervention transfers, and key barriers and facilitators to this type of research and implementation.
