Fogarty-IeDEA Mentorship Program (FIMP)

Through the Fogarty-IeDEA Mentorship Program (FIMP), Fogarty and the International Epidemiology Databases to Evaluate AIDS (IeDEA) Collaboration helps current and former Fogarty D43 trainees and IeDEA-affiliated regional investigators develop skills in study design, data management, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of research involving large HIV clinical databases generated within IeDEA.

  • Asia-Pacific: Chatkamol Pheerapanyawaranun (Thailand) and Thinh Toan Vu (Vietnam)
  • Caribbean, Central and South America Network (CASAnet): Samuel Pierre (Haiti) and Rodrigo Ville Benavides (Mexico)
  • Central Africa: Annabelle Niyongabo (Burundi), Gabriel Mabou (Cameroon) and Eulade Rugengemanzi (Rwanda) Martin Ekat and Faustin Kanyabwisha
  • East Africa: Raphael Onyango Mando (Kenya) and Wilhellmuss Isael Mauka (Tanzania)
  • Southern Africa: Petros Tembo (Malawi) and Precious Motlokwa-Moedi (Botswana)
  • West Africa: Folahanmi Tomiwa Akinsolu (Nigeria) and Yao Rodion Konu( Togo)

Partners

IeDEA is an international research consortium established in 2006 by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) to provide a rich resource for globally diverse HIV/AIDS data. The Fogarty-IeDEA Mentorship Program is supported by Fogarty with funds from the NIH Office of AIDS Research.
