Applications are now open for the 2027-2028 Fogarty Global Health Fellows
The Global Health Program for Fellows and Scholars / Launching Future Leaders in Global Health Research Training Program (LAUNCH) provides 12 months of mentored global health research training for doctoral students and postdoctoral trainees in the health professions. LAUNCH encompasses seven separate consortia, each with an individual training program in particular countries. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, or citizens or permanent residents of a country listed on the applicable consortium website. Awards are contingent on continued program funding.
Applications are open now. Each consortium offers its own uniquely designed program with a unique application deadline. Note: Applicants may apply to only one LAUNCH consortium.

- The
Clinical Research Training Scholarships funded by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) are intended for early-career neurologists interested in an academic career in clinical, basic, or translational neurological research. Applicants must have completed their residency or PhD within the past 5 years. Applicants must be members of the AAN and based at accredited neurology institutions in the USA or internationally. This is an annual award.
Application deadline: September 10, 2026 - The
Neuroimaging and CSF Biomarker Program from the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation supports development and validation of established biomarkers with a clear clinical need in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Priority areas include PET ligands, CSF biomarkers, MRI approaches, EEG measures and novel biomarkers of neuroinflammation, synaptic integrity, autophagy and TDP-43. Funding is open to researchers and clinicians worldwide at academic medical centers, universities, nonprofits and biotechnology companies.
Letter of intent deadline: September 14, 2026 - The
Established Investigator Grant from the National Scleroderma Foundation provides research funding for established investigators worldwide who have an established research funding record. The funding is intended for pilot studies to obtain preliminary data that is likely to generate innovative results to improve our understanding of scleroderma and lead to future large-scale funding. Applicants may request up to 100,000 USD per year for a period of 2 years. This is an annual award.
Application deadline: September 15, 2026 - The
ONS Congress® Scholarships from the Oncology Nursing Foundation support registered nurses interested in improving cancer care by developing their personal knowledge as a result of attending the ONS Congress and sharing this new knowledge with others. The applicant must be a registered nurse involved in cancer nursing who must be able to attend the 2027 ONS Congress in its entirety (April 14-18, 2027, in Washington, DC). Applications are open to nursing researchers in the USA and worldwide.
Application deadline: September 15, 2026 - The
Leadership Scholarships from the Oncology Nursing Foundation support registered nurses, working in oncology, interested in developing their leadership skills to improve cancer care by attending a leadership continuing education program. The leadership course selected by the applicant must be for nursing continuing professional development and cannot be used for credits toward an academic degree. Open to applicants worldwide.
Application deadline: September 15, 2026 - The
PeDRA PHACE-LUMBAR Challenge Grant from the Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance (PeDRA) in partnership with the PHACE Syndrome Community supports clinical research that improves diagnostic approaches, enhances quality of life, and addresses key aspects of disease burden and management. Open to applicants and projects worldwide.
Application deadline: September 17, 2026 - The
2026 Research Grants from the National Alopecia Areata Foundation support scientists and clinicians pursuing research that improves understanding of alopecia areata and advances the development or discovery of safe and effective treatments and a potential cure. Eligible areas include basic science, translational research, technology, epidemiology, health services, and clinical research. Open to applicants worldwide.
Application deadline: September 17, 2026 - The
2026 Early Career Award from the National Alopecia Areata Foundation supports junior investigators entering alopecia areata research. Applications may address basic science, translational research, technology, epidemiology, health services, or clinical research. Applicants must hold an M.D., D.O., Ph.D., or equivalent degree. Investigators and institutions throughout the world are welcome to apply. Eligible applicants may not have current or previous NIH R-series funding as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on an alopecia areata-focused project.
Application deadline: September 17, 2026 - The
Bruce and Jane Walsh Grant in Memory of John Holland supports scientific, scholarly, or applied research and/or educational activities investigating how personality, culture, and environment influence work behavior and health (mental and physical). Preference will be given to early career psychologists no more than 10 years postdoctoral, and pilot projects that, if successful, would be strong candidates for support from major federal and foundation funding agencies, and “demonstration projects” that promise to generalize broadly to similar settings in other geographical areas and/or to other settings. The award provides 19,000 USD. Open to applicants worldwide.

Wellcome Prize for Mental Health Science with
Nature seeks to accelerate the development, adoption and policy prioritization of effective interventions for anxiety, depression and psychosis. The award further wishes to generate enthusiasm for mental health science among policymakers, funders and the public, thereby encouraging greater investment in research. The Prize is open to research teams developing new, effective interventions for anxiety, depression or psychosis. Applications are open to universities, research institutions, nonprofits and/or small- and medium- sized enterprises. Open to applicants worldwide.
Application deadline: September 18, 2026 - The
Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program - Platform Clinical Translation Award from the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials with the potential to have a significant impact on the treatment or management of a disease or condition. Open to applicants worldwide.

International Pediatric Nephrology Association 2027 Congress Travel Grants
The IPNA 2027 Congress Travel Grants from the International Pediatric Nephrology Association support attendance at the March 9-13, 2027 IPNA Congress in Kyoto, Japan. Applicants must be active IPNA members from developing or emerging countries, actively involved in pediatric nephrology care and able to attend in person. Applicants who submit an abstract will receive priority.

ESCMID Mentorship Programme
The ESCMID Mentorship Programme connects Young Scientist Members and members from low- or lower-middle-income countries with experienced mentors in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. Mentorships may support career planning, scientific development, academic publishing, data analysis, grant and fellowship applications, and professional networking. Applicants must be ESCMID Young Scientist Members or members from
low- or lower-middle-income countries. They may apply for an in-country or out-of-country mentorship, must not have previously received funding through the program, and may not be at the same institution as or already collaborating with the selected mentor.
