Project Description

Malaria and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) remain significant causes of morbidity and mortality throughout Guinea and Mali, despite substantial progress achieved through implementation at large scale of prevention and control interventions. Improved in-country expertise in implementation research is critical to address major challenges that limit the translation of high-quality evidence into effective health programs. This Mali-Guinea research training program will strengthen the capacity of doctoral-level public health training programs and professional development to train the next generation of leadership in implementation research to ensure sustained, high performance of the local health systems, surveillance, monitoring and evaluation and timely scale up efforts of malaria and NTD control interventions.
