Project Description
The program will have significant, long-term impact on health research in Ghana and the West Africa subregion by building research ethics capacity in individuals and institutions and by strengthening the faculty and curriculum at the new MSc. in Bioethics Program at the University of Ghana. To achieve these aims, we will provide training and mentorship for faculty members at the UG Bioethics Program, co-create and implement a capacity building program designed to meet the needs of key institutions in Ghana’s research ethics system, and provide in-depth training and opportunities for professional development to 24 health professionals and academic researchers who will become experts in research ethics and integrity and leaders at their institutions. These activities will shape health research and research ethics in Ghana and the subregion to improve population health.
