Project Description

Neurocognitive disability following HIV-associated cryptococcal meningitis is common, but little is known about the risk factors associated with poor neurocognitive outcomes, and it is unclear if resulting deficits are reversible in the long-term. This project seeks to better describe the prevalence, magnitude, and risk factors for persistent neurologic deficits after cryptococcal meningitis. This project will result in a better understanding of the role of persistent markers of infection, chronic inflammation, and neurocognitive disability.
