Project Description
Globally, over 58 million pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) survivors are at a high risk of developing chronic lung disease that leads to early death and an impaired health-related quality of life. Addressing the important gap for post-TB lung disease in TB endemic areas where respiratory symptoms are often attributed to recurrent TB infection is the central aim of this proposal. This project will develop and test a clinical algorithm for timely diagnosis of post-TB lung disease in Uganda with an ultimate goal of improving the care of TB survivors worldwide.
