Project Description
This program will train HIV researchers and build training capacity at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in collaboration with the University of Washington. Research will focus on improving the lives of adolescent girls and women affected by HIV and emphasize finding ways to implement interventions that have been proven to work and can directly lead to changes in guidelines, clinical practices and policies. Building capacity at KEMRI and JKUAT to conduct locally relevant socio-behavioral and implementation science research will have long- term benefits and contribute to ending the HIV epidemic in Kenya and sub-Saharan Africa.
