Project Description

The Khulani Siphile Siphuhle Training Program (KiSS-TP) will train South African researchers from historically disadvantaged institutions (HDIs) of Eastern Cape Province in HIV research among adolescents, men, and those with co-morbid tuberculosis (TB) or mental health disorders. The program will offer intensive, mentored Ph.D. training to select masters-level faculty and staff at University of Fort Hare (UFH), Walter Sisulu University (WSU) and the Desmond Tutu Health Foundation’s (DTHF) Eastern Cape office. UFH and WSU are two of South Africa’s eight designated HDIs. The program will also strengthen Ph.D. training capacity through professional and career development of UFH and WSU faculty.
