Project Description
Oral diseases affect approximately 3.5 billion people globally, increasing health and economic burdens while significantly decreasing quality of life. This is especially true in sub-Saharan Africa where this burden is made worse by HIV. In this program, whose overall objective is to strengthen the oral health research capacity in Uganda, the team will work for the establishment of an oral health research training program for Makerere University and Uganda Christian University that is well aligned to the NIH priority area on research training of the multidisciplinary workforce required to conduct HIV/AIDS-related research.
