Project Description

This research project is in response to the emergence of a mysterious kidney disease that affects young and healthy people in impoverished communities throughout Central America. More than 50,000 people have died, and knowing more about the first signs of disease, how it progresses, and what makes certain develop severe disease more rapidly will point to ways to treat and prevent it.
