Project Description
This project seeks to provide the applicant experience in primary data collection in Bangladesh, knowledge, and skills in the measurement of sleep health and executive function, advanced statistical methods to examine socio-ecologic determinants of sleep, and community-based participatory research approaches for intervention adaptation to support the applicant's transition to research independence.
Through training, the applicant will develop the skills and expertise necessary to study sleep health of preschool children as a modifiable behavior to improve executive function and reduce the risk of childhood obesity. A feasible and culturally appropriate sleep health promotion intervention adapted during this training has the potential to improve long-term physical and developmental outcomes for millions of children in low- and middle-income countries.
