Project Description

The Developing Research Innovation, Localization and Leadership Program is a multidisciplinary research capacity building initiative that will be implemented by the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in South Africa. The training program builds on the achievements of the UKZN-MEPI Enhancing Training, Research and Education (ENTRÉE) Program. It will capacitate local junior faculty and health professionals with research skills and knowledge so that they become dynamic leaders within the institution and in the country with the ability to produce high quality research that provides evidence to address four priority health areas for the country viz.

The goal of the training program is aligned with both the vision of UKZN and the National Department of Health. The research output by the trainees of the program is anticipated to provide evidence to influence policy and practice within the South African health system.
