Project Description
To improve early access to pre-emergency care for pediatric patients, a telemedicine and medication delivery service (TMDS) is a promising innovative alternative to conventional approaches. The objectives are to:
- develop an electronic clinical decision support (eCDS) tool for a TMDS,
- derive a disease severity prediction (DSP) algorithm to enhance the eCDS for accurate triage and escalation of care, and
- externally validate the DSP and evaluate the eCDS in a pilot stepped wedge cluster randomized trial.
This single-site study will provide essential experience and metrics for a future multi-site randomized controlled trial of the DSP integrated into the eCDS.
