Project Description
Vietnam has been facing an increasing burden from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) over the last several decades, with notable increases in the morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic lung disease, and diabetes. To combat this emerging epidemic, Vietnam urgently needs to strengthen its research capacity in NCDs of clinical and public health importance. This training program will develop a research and training program in NCDs that fits Vietnam's needs and resources, as articulated by the Vietnam Ministry of Health, and establish a Center of Excellence in NCDs Research at Hanoi Medical University in collaboration with the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
