Special Announcements

NCI Seeks Applicants for HIV Research in LMICs

The office of HIV and AIDS Malignancy (OHAM) at the National Cancer Institute is planning to issue a new Notice of Funding Opportunity announcement (NOFO) to solicit applications from eligible institutions of higher educations for specialized centers to conduct research on malignancies in people with HIV in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) and to support early- and mid-career investigators from the United States (U.S.) and LMICs interested in malignancies in people with HIV.

NHGRI Reissues Ethical, Legal and Social Implications Research Grants

The NIH has reissued three Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFO) to study the ethical, legal and social implications (ELSI) of human genetic or genomic research.

NIA seeks revision applications on Alzheimer’s Research

NIA has release a Notice of Special Interest (NOSI) solicits competitive revision applications that focus on expanding research in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and its related dementias (ADRD). This NOSI invites Competitive Revision applications to existing single research project grants that are not focused on AD/ADRD.

  • The Duke University's Center for Spirituality, Theology and Health is offering $3,700 scholarships for graduate students from underdeveloped countries to attend a 5-day workshop on conducting research in religion, spirituality, and health. The workshop will be held August 11–15, 2025, and scholarships will cover tuition, airfare, hotel accommodations, and meals.
    Applications are open.
  • The American Heart Association is piloting the 2025 International Visiting Professorship Award to bring internationally based scientists to the U.S. for one week to foster scientific exchange. The goal of the program is to expand research experiences and collaborative opportunities for both the awarded Visiting Professor and his/her U.S.-based host in areas of research that align with the mission of the AHA.

Manuscript, Abstract & Poster Submission Opportunities

  • Beyond Global Health (BGH) is interested in how people from the Global North and Global South share their understanding of the concept of “Global Health.” Rather than exploring this through scientific journals and manuscripts, BGH is looking to expand on this idea through poetry, art, prose, and photography. Submissions are currently being accepted through the BGH website from researchers, participants, global health professionals, recipients of global health interventions, and anyone passionate about global health.

  • The 8th Annual AFREhealth Symposium, being held in Dakar, Senegal is now accepting abstracts. The theme for this year’s symposium is “Reimagining Public Health in a Globalized World”.
